(a.k.a The Byte Farmer)

Full Stack Developer · Product Designer · Farmer · Mentor

Don't let the smile fool you, I can write software, but I'm equally comfortable with a hoe, pruning shears, and a wheelbarrow. That's where the nickname Byte Farmer comes from.

I'm a developer who happens to love farming, but technology and design have always been part of who I am. I enjoy turning simple ideas into practical systems that solve real problems. I thank God for the ability to see possibilities where others see obstacles.

My clients rarely need to explain things twice. I naturally immerse myself in the problem, ask questions, and study the environment until I understand what truly needs to be built. Once that clarity arrives, my goal is simple: deliver something better than expected.

I build software across web and mobile platforms, with a growing focus on rural and community-driven solutions. Recently, I've been investing more time in systems for agriculture, SACCOs, and underserved communities.

One principle guides my work: you cannot build great systems from a distance. Sometimes the best requirements document is real-world experience. For example, I spent eight months learning how to manage a coffee farm before designing the software needed for it. That wasn't time wasted, it was research in its purest form.

The deeper I understand the environment, the better the systems I build. That's how software becomes useful, resilient, and capable of surviving real-world conditions.

What I Do

I work at the intersection of software, education, and practical field experience. Much of my recent work focuses on building systems for rural communities, agriculture, finance groups, and organizations operating beyond ideal infrastructure.

I also enjoy teaching and mentoring. Whether I'm working with children, students, or professionals, I love making technology approachable, understandable, and genuinely useful.

My Creations to the world!

Fundo

A farm management and agricultural knowledge platform built from hands-on farming experience and collaboration with agriculture professionals. Fundo has taught me as much about farming as I've contributed to it as a builder. Public launch is planned for May 2027.

Dejunk

Dejunk was born from a personal problem. While relocating across the country, I realized I couldn't take everything with me, yet I had no simple way to quickly find buyers for the items I no longer needed. That experience inspired Dejunk, a platform where anyone can turn unwanted items into opportunity by connecting with nearby buyers. Think of it as a modern garage sale built for mobile. The Android app is already available, with the iOS and web versions launching in July 2026.

How I Work

  • • I start with reality, not assumptions. Before building software, I ask: "How would this problem be solved if no app existed?" Understanding the manual process reveals what truly matters and helps avoid building features nobody needs.
  • • I believe great systems start simple. Users aren't impressed by dozens of features—they're impressed by software that works. Build the essentials exceptionally well, then evolve based on real user behavior.
  • • Learning is part of development. The best software comes from research, observation, and conversation with the people who will actually use it. Without understanding the domain, you're simply guessing with code.
  • • I optimize for long-term usefulness. While MVPs have their place, I prefer designing systems with growth in mind from day one. Scaling should feel like a natural next step, not an emergency rewrite.

Contact

If you're building something practical especially in education, agriculture, AI, finance, or community-driven technology, I would love to hear about it. I enjoy working on problems that create real-world impact, and for larger projects, I often assemble and lead the right team to bring them to life.
